Low-Income Housing Tax Credits & Rural Housing in Michigan, 2017

Michigan State Housing Development Authority establishes that rural set-aside projects may receive up to a 10% basis boost. 

Rural Housing is included as a Statutory Set Aside. Rural Housing (10% statutory set-aside) constitutes proposed or existing housing projects that fall into one or more of the following categories: a) financed by a loan guaranteed by Rural Housing Services or a successor agency; b) funded by a federal program for the development of rural housing; or c) is located in an area other than a metropolitan area. A list of non-eligible rural communities can be found on MSHDA’s website under the Rural Communities List.
